"...it's the tyre's split channel feature that makes it stand out from the norm...the design (and the lightweight carcass) allow the 85Psi rated tyre to zip along on two narrow strips at a ridiculous speed with very little rolling resistance. But should you venture onto dirt, the rails dig in and the knobbly bits of the hoop do their work..."
"...got the twin rail and thoroughly impressed. Fraid it missed chipps tyre review but it'll be up front in the next issue."
"...the twin rail tyres are pretty good, didnt use em at hornton hill as it was pretty slick even my other tyres wernt that good, yeah i like em"
"Those Twin Rails are awesome, Tom just rolled like lightning without pedaling"
"The idea is to provide big airspace comfort and step/concrete slab protection for urban hooliganism, but still keeping the rolling footprint fast enough for a rapid exit when necessary. The great news is it seems to really work. The 2.2inchers are fast on the road when pumped up to 85psi, and boast particularly impressive water dispersing performance for monsoon grip..."
"This is a huge tyre and the shock absorption from that vast air pocket is every bit as good as you'd expect. It also rolls okay, partly because it will take 85Psi and partly because of that Twin Rail centre rolling strip...The tread's not too deep so it corners confidently on tarmac for a non-slick tyre, yet still provides some grip off-road...As a multi-use tyre it's excellent..."
"...The part which makes this, in my opinion, the better tyre, is the unique twin rails. They are two strips of rubber than stands about 5mm above the tire and you seem to only roll on these rails. But as soon as you corner slightly or lean the bike, then the rest of the tire kicks in. Between the rails there is drive 'sleepers' that add extra traction and is equipped with overlapping low profile knobs to avoid cornering knob flex. The rail idea sounds worrying but these tires haven’t slid out on me yet and provide extraordinary grip in wet and dry conditions. They zip along at incredible high speeds with very little, if any rolling resistance and can also be pumped up to pressures of around 90PSI making punctures very hard to come by and features a "Built-in Puncture Protection System" . I have not got a puncture with these 2.2 inch tyres. The first place I took these beauties was Salt Mill Skate Park in Saltash. It's a concrete park with a wooden quarter, bowl, spine, concrete quarter, funbox, pyramid and the rest. There's quite a bit of media from there on the site if you haven't checked that out already. As soon as I got there I was pumped to ride and the tyres made the concrete feel like butter. Everything was so smooth! After like an hour or so though a big black bloody cloud came over to sprinkle its wet crapness on us. The park was quite wet afterwards and which normally means its next to impossible to ride as it goes slippery as hell. The tyres didn’t slide once! I was able to beast around undeterred as the rest of the people in the park looked on. Class! On street missions the tyres have also performed just as brilliantly, and are incredibly good in wet conditions. On dirt they are also very fast, allowing you to carry more speed through the lines making it easier to go higher and bust out. I am definitely impressed by these tyres, they do all that is required by them and more."
"I've ridden these tyres for a few weeks now, mostly on street, and I can honestly say I've been impressed by them: Halo's Twin Rail tyre features a double centre ridge that runs very fast on street and ramps, with a knobblier side section that grips better on hard packed dirt. They take high pressures with ease, and also have a puncture resistant casing, so flats should happen less. They were designed in the UK as well. So, are these the ultimate all round tyre choice? Could be..."
"...The main feature of this 2.2" wide hoop is the twin central rails which help to reduce the buzz on hard surfaces while drive sleepers between the rails offer traction on loose surfaces...All the studs are overlapping to reduce lateral flex so they don't feel squishy, especially when cornering. This certainly feels good on the street when pumped up hard..."
